Back when we had our 65th Birthday party Heritage Bathrooms created the lovely bathroom cake above to help celebrate with us. I love the immense amount of detail that has been put into the bubbles bursting out of what looks like an extremely relaxing bath. It was almost a shame to demolish this cake and scoff it down, but thankfully it tasted just as good as it looked so it was an opportunity that was too good to pass up!
It got me thinking about other cakes styled on a bathroom theme, and it turns out that there are actually quite a few out there floating around on the Internet. In fact, there are literally thousands of unique cake designs that look extremely impressive, and it becomes a shame that these works of art are ultimately going to end up sitting in people’s stomachs.
Firstly I found this brilliant design by Abi over at the Angel Eden Blog. It’s similar to the cake we had, although with a change of sex and an added foot shaped bath mat. Abi also takes the time to show you how to make your own, although I have a feeling that if I attempted it then it would look less like a bath and more like a mess that someone has ungratefully dumped on your table.
Our next pick is another brilliant take on a bath filled with bubbles, except this time Fondantfetish has gone to the intricate effort of creating bath accessories that litter the icing constructed tiled bathroom floor around it. You can make out shampoo bottles, a radio, a bath towel, shoes and even the good old rubber duck. To top it off you’ve got the candles of a birthday cake also playing the part of creating a romantic bathroom atmosphere. Spectacular!
Geny J on Flickr has gone even further and has created an entire bathroom, so not only have you got a bath and two people having a little sit down on the bathroom floor but you’ve also got a toilet, basin, bathroom mirror and even a plunger. As with the last one a lot of attention has gone into creating the accessories to, down to the toilet roll and a tube of toothpaste.
Finally, if you don’t want to chomp down on a real cake then why not get a cake that is actually useful in the bathroom? Creative Soaps has a range of bath bomb fairy cupcakes that look like they’re ready for eating, although we wouldn’t recommend biting down on any of these. They come in different ‘flavours’ from blackcurrant and strawberry to lime and coconut. You can snap them up at £2.50 per cake.
If this post has accomplished anything then it is has to be increasing my craving for cake.
